Cloves have an intensely unique aroma and flavour You use them sparingly in all kinds of marinades for meat and game, in Asian cuisine as part of a range of different spice blends, in sauerkraut, red cabbage and in stews. Finely ground cloves are also one of the spices used for mixed spice and speculaas spices.
Tip: stick some cloves in a slice of orange and let them infuse into red wine over low heat together with a cinammon stick. Delicious!
