Beechwood chopping block, 45 x 30 x 4 cm

This chopping block made of 'head' beech has a handle on both sides. The board lies firmly on your countertop, so it is ideal for all kinds of cutting and chopping jobs in the kitchen.

Headwood is wood cut at right angles to the log; the short strips of wood are glued together laterally. Headwood 'works' less and is less likely to warp.

Before first use, rub the chopping block with olive or linseed oil - including the sides - and let the oil soak in well. The oil protects the wood from moisture and the penetration of aromas, flavours and colours. Repeat this treatment regularly during the first few months. As the chopping block ages and is regularly treated with oil, it will be more resistant to moisture.

Never put a chopping block in water or in the dishwasher to prevent warping or even cracking.
